Pubslush, the crowdfunding platform I wrote about here, announced a couple of days ago that it was going to suspend operations.
But not so fast, apparently. Today comes an announcement that Pubslush is being acquired by Colborne Communications as of Monday August 24.
All indications are that Pubslush will be able to continue to offer its own brand of crowdfunding solution, and also be able to expand its offerings, as Colborne is a respected name in the industry, with all the weapons at its disposal to provide more upscale services than what Pubslush has traditionally been able to.
On balance, I’d say this is good news, for several reasons. The main one is that it’s evidence that the crowdfunding idea has legs, and the platforms offering it are attractive to purchasers. That’s no small thing.
